Summary
The ‘aidflow’ visualisation is inspired by this diagram of the “New Aid Architecture” by Homi Kharas. Right now, data to show the complete picture isn’t available but as more information opens up, this visualisation can be extended.
The idea is to see how much global aid is given bilaterally and multilaterally to recipient countries. Since the volume of data natively available in IATI format is currently quite modest; the visualisation has two versions: on using OECD data and the other using currently available IATI data.
The OECD data represents historic, audited and statistically processed information – the IATI data offers a more current, operational picture.
